On Wednesday 22nd September, Sara Bean, Editor of FMJ and Rebecca Fairfield, Head of Key Accounts at BRITA VIVREAU teamed up to host a webinar on why sustainability can not only enhance the performance of buildings but the wellbeing and engagement levels of occupants.
The discussion kicked off with a briefing by Rebecca Fairfield on research carried out by BRITA VIVREAU which revealed over three quarters of office workers claim a well-designed office would motivate them to accept a job, and the majority said sustainability tops their agenda of what is important when it comes to the office.
Property & Estates Professional Lucy Hind, a Senior FM Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University and a member of the FMJ Steering committee explained the growing interest of her students in designing for sustainability.
Studies have demonstrated the impact of well-designed office spaces, so the webinar featured a case study example of The Shard Living Lab – designed by DaeWha Kang, who presented evidence of the impact of biophilic design has on employee wellbeing.
