Standard Chartered Bank appoints JLL for workplace services across EMEA and the Americas

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed JLL to provide real estate solutions to support its workplace and workforce transformation and net zero carbon commitments.

Under the five-year agreement, JLL will deliver facilities management, project management, security and health & safety services across the Bank’s workplace and facilities portfolios in the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The agreement will play an integral role in redesigning the Bank’s workspaces and focus to put people first and provide a better workplace experience. JLL will also work with the Bank to help deliver its commitment to net zero carbon operations across its workplace and facilities portfolios by reducing energy use, increasing efficiency, and switching to solar power and other green energy sources. In addition, JLL will be responsible for ensuring that the Bank’s workplace and facilities supply chain is diverse and sustainable, by establishing partnerships with a significant proportion of locally owned and female-owned businesses.

Denis McGowan, Global Head of Property, Standard Chartered Bank, said: The new world of work is presenting an unprecedented opportunity for us to reimagine the purpose of our workplace and evaluate the changing workforce preferences. A sustainable real estate portfolio and operations and attracting and retaining top talent by creating workplaces that prioritise wellbeing and better experience for our colleagues are key priorities for us going forward. We’re excited to embark on this journey with JLL as we develop a holistic real estate strategy that is sustainable and responsible, and which places our employee experience at the centre.”

Mark Caskey, CEO Work Dynamics, EMEA, JLL added: “Organisations have a chance to reimagine workplace culture and reinvent themselves with the workforce experience front of mind. And as global businesses race to decarbonise, at JLL we are turning climate talk into action by helping our clients. We are delighted to work with Standard Chartered Bank to help them achieve their workplace and workforce transformation and net zero carbon ambitions. We look forward to supporting their ambitious projects across EMEA and the Americas.”

The contract will commence this month across 263 sites in 38 markets.
