FM event to futureproof workforce

Facilities and operations managers from across Bristol and the South West are being urged to attend an event designed to future-proof the profession as the built environment landscape continues to evolve.

Delivered by UK leading provider of Facilities Management accredited courses and apprenticeships, Gower College Swansea, the free event will take place on Thursday, November 24 at Engineers House, Bristol.

Guests can expect advice on maximising apprenticeship levies, in addition to first-hand advice from tutors about the flexible learning opportunities to upskill, re-skill and develop the workforce.

Commenting on the crucial timing of the event is Paul Kift, Director of Skills and Business Development, at Gower College Swansea: “With businesses across the UK being forced to adapt operations in line with the ever-changing economic landscape, it is more important than ever to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to ensure that facilities are not severely impacted.

“The multiple disciplinary role of a facilities or operations manager, will only become more challenging as the built environment; its people, place, processes and technologies are all needing to deliver more to keep up with higher demands. This event takes a fully holistic approach to informing and supporting facilities managers and will close with an opportunity for guests to network with peers, to share best practice and learnings.”

The Facilities Management Roadshow will also include a talk from Alan Horton about Lean methodologies, helping managers gain a broader understanding of the impact their roles have on their individual businesses,
