A recent survey by FMJ in partnership with Pitney Bowes found that 20 per cent of recipients are still using manual paper-based visitor systems, which doesn’t fit with their top priority – to maintain a safe and operational environment.
It also fails to help support hybrid working patterns, and as a recent Webinar from FMJ and Pitney Bowes discussed, does little to help manage and influx of parcels being delivered into premises at this time of year.
The Webinar: How to control the flow of people and parcels through your facility kicked off with a short presentation by Gary Abbott, Director of Pitney Bowes Business Development, who outlined the main findings of the two surveys and what this could mean for FMs.
He was joined by a panel to discuss the research which comprised:
- Stuart Bushaway, Head of Dealers Operations and FM Relationships – Pitney Bowes
- Wayne Young – Facilities Manager, Just Eat Takeaway.com
- Simi Gandhi-Whitaker , Strategic Technology Director, Connected Workspace, Mitie
All agreed that digital technology is the key to not only managing parcel deliveries, visitors and staff in the present but also to help plan ahead in terms of amenities and space management in the future.
