To mark National Mentoring Day, Bellrock Group is shining a light on its partnership with the Inspiring Leadership Foundation (ILF), a charity organisation working to achieve economic empowerment for vulnerable and disadvantaged women and girls.
The ILF have already helped over 6,000 such women and girls, with the ambition to support 100,000 by 2030. To achieve that goal, it aims to boost its number of active mentors to at least 500. Bellrock is helping meet that target, contributing time and expertise across the whole spectrum of workplace and property management services.
Matching experienced leaders with the right mentees creates huge potential for personal and professional growth. Bellrock will also be using the ILF’s digital platform to start advertising FM roles to a hugely increased audience of potential female candidates.
Sophie Chivers, Head of Organisational Development and ED&I champion at Bellrock said: “As part of our ED&I strategy ‘Belonging at Bellrock’ we are passionate about inclusivity. Our goal is to encourage and inspire talented females within our business and externally to achieve their dreams, regardless of their background, which is why partnering with the ILF made so much sense.
‘We love what the charity stands for and believe the relationship is mutually beneficial; not only does investment in diversity and inclusion ensure that we have access to the widest possible talent pool, but it also means we have plurity of ideas and perspectives which form better business decisions.
“By engaging in the ILF scheme, our amazing colleagues will help women and girls into meaningful careers. In today’s world, we know that women and girls face challenges that can hold them back, but we believe in a culture where they can thrive.”
National Mentoring Day takes place on 27 October each year. Working to celebrate, connect, educate, and support mentees, this nonprofit is on a mission to make mentoring accessible to everyone.
National Mentoring Day was founded in 2014 and inaugurated as an official National Day at the Houses of Parliament in 2016.
Planned, proactive maintenance is a keystone of every FM strategy. However, with current cost constraints, there are many demands on Facilities Managers’ maintenance budgets. When it comes to drainage and plumbing, however, the expense of repairing blockages or dealing with flooding could vastly exceed the cost of preventative maintenance.
Given your role as an FM Professional, we would love to hear your views, challenges & experiences, and opinions on drainage & plumbing within the workplace.
