Workplace catering company, BM, has raised almost £50,000 in aid of the Order of St George’s work in Ukraine through a second fundraising dinner.
The Golden Hearts Gala Dinner, held at Hogan Lovells in London on 26 October, saw people from across the sector come together to help raise much needed funds for those impacted by the war in the Ukraine.
The event saw a panel of BM’s Ukrainian team members invited to tell their stories and share their hopes for the future, as well as a charity auction.
Funds raised will help provide medical equipment such as tourniquets and basic medical training for those on the frontline. The proceeds will also go towards the Order of St George’s work in supplying medical and other humanitarian supplies to refugees and displaced persons in Poland and Moldova, and in Ukraine itself.
Angus Brydon, Managing Director, BM, said: “The conflict in Ukraine is ongoing, mustn’t forget, we are doing what we can to continue supporting those affected.
“Through our efforts, we can make a difference in so many lives. The funds we raised will once again provide vital medical equipment and training for the citizens of Ukraine.
“One year on from our last event, which raised in excess of £40,000, we have our own Ukraine family members and this really means so much more to all of us.”
The Order of St George supports charitable and humanitarian projects around the world, focusing on charities that work with current and former service personnel, and Christian communities suffering religious persecution.
Planned, proactive maintenance is a keystone of every FM strategy. However, with current cost constraints, there are many demands on Facilities Managers’ maintenance budgets. When it comes to drainage and plumbing, however, the expense of repairing blockages or dealing with flooding could vastly exceed the cost of preventative maintenance.
Given your role as an FM Professional, we would love to hear your views, challenges & experiences, and opinions on drainage & plumbing within the workplace.
