ISS has extended its facilities management contract with East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT) for five more years, with a lifetime value of £33 million and a two-year option to extend.
The partnership, which already spans more than two decades, will see more than 200 ISS team members providing a wide range of soft FM services across the Trust’s four sites.
With shared values and shared investment, this partnership is an example of ISS’s collaborative approach to support the Trust to achieve its strategic goals. This includes efforts from ISS and the Trust on a number of sustainability and social value initiatives, including:
- More than £300,000 in cost saving initiatives passed on to ECT through ISS’s vested investment fund.
- Joint efforts to upgrade technology, infrastructure and assets to make ECT buildings more sustainable, in coordination with the Net Zero goals of the Trust and the wider NHS.
- Employee engagement programmes to support the wellbeing, development and career progression of ISS employees at ECT.
Furthermore, ISS’ commitment to quality is evident with ECT receiving consistently high auditing assessments, from a 99.7 per cent cleaning score on its 2022/23 PLACE Assessment, to 96 per cent overall Food Safety Audit score, to a ‘Good’ rating for ECT’s rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Robert Few, Deputy Director of Estates & Facilities at East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with ISS, which has already seen our ISS colleagues support the Trust’s delivery of high-quality patient care for the last two decades. Over 200 valued ISS colleagues now work with us at East Cheshire NHS Trust and are intrinsic to the day to day running of or organisation.”
Donna Brown, Managing Director for Healthcare at ISS UK & Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to continue our long-standing relationship with East Cheshire NHS Trust, and are proud to support them in enhancing the health, wellbeing and experience of patients, staff and visitors. This contract extension is a testament to the strong partnership we have built over the last 20 years, and we look forward to working together for many more.”
As environmental protection demands unified action, transparency, and heightened awareness, Biological Preparations has launched an initiative to catalyse sustainability efforts within the FM sector.
FM businesses face unique challenges and heightened expectations of eco-initiatives from their clients. Yet, behind the scenes in FM businesses, many environmental initiatives, rollouts and even planning, are not broadcasted and transparent.
