Mitie named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer for third consecutive year

Mitie has been named as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer for the third consecutive year, in recognition of its comprehensive apprenticeship offering and commitment to building sustainable careers for its colleagues.

The awards recognise England’s outstanding apprenticeship employers and their commitment to creating new apprenticeship opportunities, the diversity of their apprentices, and the number of those who successfully achieve their programmes.

Having been included on the list for three years running, Mitie’s ranking has increased each time, with it now ranking 52nd, up 28 places over the past year.

Mitie champions apprenticeships as a cornerstone for the development of its colleagues, with over 1,300 apprentices working across the business at any one time, in programmes from Level 2 through to Level 7. These colleagues work across a diverse range of areas, from technical roles such as engineering, electrical and maintenance, to business functions like HR, data intelligence, and finance.

The business is also part of the 5% Club, a group of organisations dedicated to achieving five per cent of their workforce in earn and learn positions, such as apprentices and training schemes.

Since 2017 Mitie has invested £15.2 million in apprenticeship programmes and is passionate about using apprenticeships to plug future skill gaps. For example, Mitie engineering apprentices are training in specialist areas needed for the green transition, such as learning to install heat pumps.

Kate Large, Director of Learning and Development, Mitie, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer for the third year running. At Mitie we’re committed to developing our people and equipping them with the skills they need to develop fulfilling careers, as well as attracting new talent to the industry through apprenticeships. I’m delighted to see our ranking increase again, testament to the progress we’re making in supporting our colleagues to build fulfilling and sustainable careers.”

Mitie is the only facilities transformation organisation included on the list.
