EMCOR UK wins landmark IFM deal with the BBC

EMCOR UK has been awarded a landmark five-year integrated facilities management (IFM) contract with public service broadcaster, the BBC.

The journey to this award began two years ago. Following a highly competitive tender process, EMCOR UK emerged as the successful bidder, due to its shared values of, innovation, people-first culture, sustainability and collaboration.

Central to the arrangement is a commitment to delivering business-critical services to support the BBC’s present day and future estates strategy, helping to ensure seamless broadcast continuity while fostering industry-leading work environments. The BBC sought an FM partner that could bring together management excellence and delivery alongside a deep-rooted culture of collaboration, authenticity and transparency.

EMCOR UK’s innovative offerings bring together its experts from across the business with data insights to drive change and innovation. Its Insight Intelligence and Asset Dynamics services resonated strongly, further supported by its status as the first FM company globally to achieve the ISO 44001 standard for collaborative business relationships.

The contract, set to commence in early 2025, will cover more than 100 buildings across the UK and Northen Ireland, including London Broadcasting House, Media City Salford, Central Square Cardiff, Broadcasting House Belfast and Glasgow Pacific Quay. EMCOR UK’s 700+ strong BBC team will deliver a comprehensive suite of services under an integrated model, including building engineering, cleaning, waste management, landscaping and pest control, all of which support an inspirational workplace experience.
