Technical and energy solutions provider, Dalkia UK, has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver total facilities management services to the recently rebuilt Paterson building.
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, covering more than 25,000 sq. metres and standing 10 storeys high. Responsible for the entire site, Dalkia UK is now providing technical expertise to the building as well as front of house reception support and cleaning services to all teams on site.
The Paterson Building is part of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre – a highly successful partnership between three powerhouses of innovation, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Cancer Research UK and The University of Manchester – and will be one of the top cancer research centres in the world.
The building is set to become home to the largest concentration of scientists, doctors and nurses in Europe with 300 scientists and 400 clinicians and operational staff, practicing what is known as ‘team science’. It will deliver clinical trials covering the full extent of the patient pathway, from prevention and novel treatments to living with and beyond cancer.
The building will be Manchester’s scientific headquarters for discovery science within the international Alliance for Early Cancer Detection.
Dalkia says it is proud to look after a world-class space and by delivering sustainable and innovative solutions can help the fight against climate change to create a more sustainable Net Zero future.
Nicolas Pages (Business Unit Director) commented: “We are delighted that The Christie NHS Foundation Trust has renewed their trust in Dalkia delivering work on this world-leading Cancer Research Centre. It is a pleasure to work in such a collaborative environment with all three partners, which will not only impact the individual through improved cancer treatments but also accelerate the city of Manchester’s contribution to global medical innovation.”
Alex Beedle, Head of Estates & Facilities at The Christie added: “I am pleased to continue our relationship with Dalkia UK with the Trust as a vital supplier of hard and soft facilities management services at the Paterson Building. I look forward to strengthening our long-term partnership with the Dalkia team in the delivery of these vital services here in Manchester.”
