Reconomy completes two further US acquisitions

The international circular economy specialist has acquired two US-based firms to add capabilities and accelerate growth of its leading US waste management platform, Lincoln Waste Solutions.

Complete Solutions & Sourcing, based in Peekskill, New York and founded in 2010, is a high-growth waste and recycling services management company specialising in waste management for grocery store anchored shopping centres, multi-family residential units and retail segments.

Waste Focus is a full-service waste management provider with solutions including recycling and waste consulting servicing hundreds of customers across the property management, hospitality and manufacturing sectors. Headquartered in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts the business was founded in 2007 by principal owners Bob Benjamin and Steve Rando.

The acquired brands further bolster the waste and resource management capabilities of Lincoln Waste Solutions, adding significant momentum to its market-leading offering in the US waste management sector following its acquisition by Reconomy in August 2024.

The businesses will integrate with Lincoln Waste Solutions, led by CEO John Ayvas and headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, and will sit in Reconomy’s Recycle Loop led by Michael Williams, EVP, Circular Solutions, North America.

Guy Wakeley, Chief Executive of Reconomy, commented: “We are delighted to acquire these high-quality, well-established brands that have strong waste management platforms in the US and valuable client bases across multiple sectors. They build on our acquisition of Lincoln Waste Solutions as we scale up our US waste management platform to establish a leading position and mark another major strategic milestone in our journey.

“Looking forward, I have never been more energised by Reconomy’s prospects and the future of our business. We are delivering exceptional growth and these acquisitions add to our growing momentum as we continue to build out a world-class, tech-enabled, people-powered platform at pace to capture opportunities in the highly attractive international circular economy.”

Michael Williams, EVP Circular Solutions, North America, at Reconomy added: “After a transformational 2024 for Reconomy which saw our first two US acquisitions, we are delighted to build on this momentum by adding two further high-quality, complimentary brands to the Group. Having successfully scaled our platform across Europe, Reconomy is now embarking on the next phase of our growth strategy by rolling out our proven model and expertise across the US to scale our operations in the world’s largest and most attractive market. These new brands strengthen our offering through Lincoln Waste Solutions, already a leading player in the US waste management sector, to drive further growth in the US this coming year.”

In August 2024, Reconomy acquired Vermilion, a US market leader in the take-back of post-consumer products.

Webinar: Staying on Top of Safety

FMJ has partnered with Watco to deliver a webinar on Thursday 30th January where we will be grilling a panel of experts on how facilities managers can maintain a safe workplace while balancing shrinking budgets.

The webinar follows the Lifting the Lid report series that the industrial paint and repair products specialist has been developing over the past few years based on research conducted with FMs across the UK. The research explored core responsibilities of the FM role, including how they have evolved in the past decade, and the associated challenges to manage.

Watco’s Sales Director and key contributor to the reports, Chris Budd, will be joined by a panel of experts including Phil Pinnington, Head of Audit & Consultancy at the British Safety Council, Nick Bray, Head of HSEQ, ISS UK and Ireland and Jenni Gallop, Director of Estates and Facilities at Provide Community.

With decades of combined experience in the introduction and management of health and safety in complex, demanding environments, the panel will provide the audience with recommendations broken down into steps that can be introduced immediately.

The panel will discuss the research data from FMs across the UK, the evidence they have seen of those experiences across industries and their first-hand recommendations on how to manage those challenges and ease the pressure.

Can’t make it no problem…

Simply sign up below and after the webinar has been broadcast, we will send you a link to watch the recording.
