Peartree Cleaning releases latest ESG report

Peartree Cleaning Services has released its latest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, highlighting its commitment to integrating environmental sustainability and social responsibility into its core business practices, and detailing its ambitious plans for 2025.

Key environmental achievements for 2023/24 include a 21 per cent reduction in total carbon emissions year-on-year; a 95 per cent electric fleet transition with plans to transition fully as infrastructure improves in Scotland and Wales; an 88 per cent reduction in plastic consumption; and the appointment of Georgie Hull as Sustainability Manager.

Last year the company introduced Peartree 360, its fully bespoke quality management system. The platform will support the business with its sustainability initiatives enabling the tracking of key ESG metrics such as emissions from staff commutes and plastic usage at client sites.

It also navigated a successful Supply Chain Transformation, engaging with suppliers to measure and report their Scope 1 and 2 emissions, enabling more precise and impactful carbon reduction strategies.

Peartree Services undertook a number of community impact initiatives in 2024, with head office staff contributing over 364 volunteering hours to support food banks, alongside financial donations to community-focused charities.

The report outlines ambitious plans for 2025, including enhancing employee wellbeing through improved assistance programmes, and achieving near-term and net-zero targets aligned with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

Brad Reames, Owner and Managing Director of Peartree Cleaning, said: “2024 was a transformative year for Peartree. We have taken bold steps to reduce our environmental impact, engage with our communities, and uphold the highest standards of governance. This ESG Report is a testament to our team’s commitment to driving meaningful change.

“Our vision for 2025 is to make sustainability part of everyday life at Peartree, delivering real value for our people, clients, and the planet.  It’s not just a goal for us, it’s a responsibility we embrace every day.”
