Workman to manage shopping centre trio

Independent commercial property management and building consultancy firm, Workman LLP, has been appointed by NewRiver REIT to undertake property management services across three further shopping centres.

The appointment follows NewRiver’s acquisition of Capital & Regional plc in December 2024, incorporating the company’s assets into the NewRiver portfolio.

The schemes are all located in Greater London suburban communities, and add to the existing NewRiver portfolio of shopping centres and retail parks already under management by Workman.

The firm will begin to deliver property management services from mid-February at The Exchange Centre in Ilford, The Mall in Wood Green and 17&Central in Walthamstow.

James Taylor, Partner at Workman, said: “We are delighted with this opportunity to expand our work with NewRiver. Our property management team is keen to work alongside this leading real estate investment trust to deliver their strategic ambitions for these three centres, each of which have the potential to further develop and enhance their roles as hubs within thriving neighbourhoods.”

Emma Mackenzie, Head of Asset Management and ESG at NewRiver, commented: “We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with Workman following our acquisition of Capital & Regional. Workman have managed retail assets in our portfolio for many years, and their appointment continues the consistency of team and operations across our business as we integrate the new assets. We are confident that Workman’s team of experienced property management and community engagement experts will leverage their wealth of expertise, helping support us to manage our retail assets to continue to improve the offer for our shoppers and occupiers, maintain and enhance value and help create thriving retail destinations.
