Cardo Group, a provider of building maintenance services to social housing providers and public bodies has acquired property maintenance services specialist, Rodgers & Johnston Ltd (R&J), based in Holytown, North Lanarkshire.
This is the group’s second acquisition of 2025 in Scotland and marks another significant step in Cardo’s broader strategy to expand its footprint across the UK.
Working with housing associations, local authorities, and public sector clients across Scotland, R&J has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality property maintenance services, including responsive and planned repairs, electrical works, and void property refurbishments.
Headed up by Managing Director, Greg Johnston, R&J’s expertise in delivering multi-trade services will complement Cardo’s existing strengths in M&E, renewables and retrofit solutions.
Liam Bevan, Cardo CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Greg and the whole R&J team to Cardo Group. The business has been operating since 1968 and this long and positive track record in delivering essential maintenance services to social housing providers and public sector clients aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance the quality and efficiency of social housing homes and public buildings across the UK.
“By combining, we can grow our services and geographical reach and that creates an exciting future for us all. Most important is our joint culture for doing our best for clients and residents and that will see us thrive together, in Scotland and beyond.”
R&J will continue to operate under its current management team, ensuring continuity for clients and staff while benefiting from the additional resources and expertise of Cardo Group.
On 27 February FMJ will be hosting a webinar in partnership with workplace management solutions provider, Matrix Booking, to discuss the challenges posed by managing hybrid work models, meeting sustainability targets, and dealing with economic pressures, which have long required a fine balancing act for Facilities Managers. This is set to become more complicated this year with the Government announcing plans to allow staff to work more flexibly.
The webinar will bring together the digital experts from Matrix Booking alongside a panel of workplace thought leaders to discuss how FMs can create the perfect balance.
