Acquisition trail continues for Hygiacura Group

UK-based facilities management group, Hygiacura Group Limited, has acquired GCC Property Care Limited, a renowned provider of property maintenance, care services, and commercial cleaning.

GCC Property Care Limited, under the leadership of Director Matthew Diskin, has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality property care and commercial cleaning solutions across various sectors.

With this acquisition, Hygiacura not only integrates GCC’s expertise but also establishes a firm base in the Yorkshire area, leveraging a strong and loyal client base in both Leeds and Sheffield. This strategic move enhances Hygiacura’s ability to deliver comprehensive facilities management solutions to a broader client base, particularly in the Yorkshire region.

Martin Barker, CEO of Hygiacura, said of the acquisition: “The addition of GCC Property Care Limited to our portfolio is a testament to our commitment to growth and excellence in the facilities management sector. With this strategic acquisition, we are better positioned to meet the evolving needs of our clients and continue our journey of innovation and service excellence.”

Matthew Diskin, Director of GCC Property Care Limited, commented: “This is an exciting new chapter for GCC Property Care Limited. Over the past few months, we have worked closely with Hygiacura to ensure a seamless transition. We are confident that this move will provide our clients with enhanced services and allow us to leverage Hygiacura’s extensive resources to further grow our business, particularly in Leeds and Sheffield.”

The acquisition of GCC Property Care Limited marks Hygiacura’s latest move in its strategic expansion plan, which has seen the company grow rapidly across various sectors. In April, the company announced its acquisition of Sector Support Services, which was shortly followed by its acquisition of Clearlake Cleaning Limited.

Webinar: Using AI learning to improve frontline staff engagement

Frontline workers form the backbone of facilities management services, serving as the face of the brand and interacting directly with customers. Yet research by both L&G and the Living Wage Foundation reveals the majority feel overlooked and expendable.

Accelerating the problem is a growing technology gap. Despite having 2.7 billion deskless workers worldwide, representing 80 per cent of the global workforce, only one per cent of software and technology investments has been allocated to this segment. This means there is a huge disconnect between frontline workers and their headquarters, leading to lack of sufficient training, communication challenges and low employee retention.

For this webinar, FMJ has teamed up with frontline training platform Lingio to bring together a panel of experts, to discuss how easy-to-use and efficient AI tools can help create engaging and gamified learning experiences that fit the needs of underserved deskless workers. The result? Better software and learning experiences lead to improved staff engagement and reduced staff turnover by up to 95 per cent, according to McKinsey.
