Arriva Rail London appoints Carlisle for hard FM services

After five years of delivering soft FM services for Arriva Rail London, which operates the London Overground on behalf of Transport for London (TfL), Carlisle Support Services has been awarded an additional contract to provide hard FM services across the stations managed by the operator.

Under the contract terms, Carlisle will now provide both planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and station improvements across various disciplines, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical and fabric services.

As part of the contract mobilisation, Carlisle has introduced new technologies and systems that integrate efficiently with the existing operational support team to help streamline operations. Carlisle has integrated the required Computer Aided Facilities Management System (CAFM) to allow engineers to effectively monitor and maintain various assets across the network.

In support of the operation, Carlisle acquired a new office in Hackney Wick to provide a base of operations for its 18 network engineers and support staff required to deliver services.

Richard Jenkins, Managing Director for Carlisle’s cleaning and facilities division said: “The introduction of hard FM services into the business has been a successful operation, showing the key determination of our teams to diversify our portfolio and provide a high-quality service to our current customers. Our growing service offering aims to streamline operations and provide greater value for our clients, positioning Carlisle as a one-stop solution for all facilities management needs.”

Steve Moran, Head Infrastructure Projects & Facilities Management at Arriva Rail London added: “By using innovative technology and a solutions-focused approach, Carlisle’s shift to managing hard facilities for Arriva Rail London provides us with reliable and cost-effective services for both scheduled upkeep and urgent repairs, aligned with our core business goals. We are excited to shape the future of facilities management delivery on the London Overground.”
