FM business, Atlas, has secured a five-year contract with the British Red Cross for the provision of planned and reactive engineering maintenance services.
For the last 150 years, the British Red Cross has been putting kindness into action, helping millions of people in the UK and around the world get the support they need when crisis strikes. The British Red Cross has charity shops and offices across the UK, which are vital to the organisation’s work.
The contract, which was awarded to Atlas Workplace Services following a competitive tender process, commenced last month, and will see Atlas maintaining 450 locations in mainland UK and 13 islands including Shetland, Jersey and Guernsey. Sites include retail units, operations hubs and fundraising centres.
Atlas already provides a range of cleaning, housekeeping and security services for some British Red Cross sites, including the national headquarters in Moorgate, London. Via a separate agreement, Atlas will now be delivering hard FM services that help the charity to focus on its critical activities.
Andrew Lunt, Managing Director of Atlas Workplace Services, commented: “I am delighted that we have won this contract with the British Red Cross, an important and renowned organisation. We understand the mission-critical humanitarian work the charity delivers and we will support them by maintaining a safe and compliant estate. We have already been working closely with them as we mobilise the new contract and we look forward to continuing a positive partnership for years to come.”
Andy Martin, British Red Cross Head of Property, commented: “Our staff and volunteers work incredibly hard to support those in crisis across the UK and around the world. It’s important that our offices and charity shops are properly looked after, so that our people, those we support and our shop customers, can come into a safe, clean environment. One of the key considerations for us was to select a company which we think will be a great fit with our ethos, with a strong track record of facilities management. We’re delighted to continue to work with Atlas.”
