BM Caterers named one of the UK’s top 100 employers

Best Companies has named BM Caterers as one of the top 100 large companies to work for in the UK.

In addition, the business has been ranked among the top 25 large companies to work for in London, and among the top 10 in the business services sector in the Best Companies annual ranking.

Best Companies recognises the UK’s most attractive and effective employers. Participating businesses are judged on factors including workplace engagement initiatives, staff wellbeing, benefits, company culture and values.

BM was awarded a two-star rating by Best Companies earlier this year – the second highest accreditation – for its ‘outstanding’ commitment to workplace engagement. Having received a one-star accreditation for the last decade, BM managed to improve its score through improved employee engagement and an enhanced benefits package for all.

The accreditation was based on the score generated by a survey sent to all team members, who could submit their responses confidentially regarding wellbeing, pay and benefits, personal growth, team, and leadership.

Angus Brydon, MD, BM Caterers, said: “These achievements reflect the dedication, passion, and collaboration of the incredible people who make BM Caterers what it is today. We take immense pride in our culture and the supportive environment we’ve created together.

“As we look toward the future, our journey doesn’t stop here. In 2025, we’ll embark on another round of initiatives to further enhance our employee experience, including people surveys and focus groups. We’ll continue to listen, learn, and grow, ensuring that BM Caterers remains a workplace where everyone thrives.”

BM launched its Pearfect enhanced benefits package earlier this year. Team members now get 24 weeks of fully paid maternity leave and four weeks of secondary carer leave, as well as three days of grandparent leave, all of which extend to families welcoming new members through adoption and surrogacy. The company is also offering four weeks of fully paid leave for periods of fertility treatment.

This is in addition to BM team members already being able to take advantage of paid leave for their wedding/commitment day and birthday, one day a year for volunteering, and free meals during working hours. Wellbeing perks include an annual health check, and six mental health consultations, six nutritional consultations, six bereavement consultations and two digital GP sessions per year for them or their immediate family.
