Equans awarded contract extension with Warrington Borough Council

Warrington Borough Council has extended its contract with Equans, which will see hard FM services continue to be delivered across its built estate with the addition of net zero carbon consultancy.

Through the existing partnership which commenced in 2022, Equans delivers reactive and planned maintenance and minor works projects services across the council’s 132 core buildings estate and 43 wider estate buildings, including schools, care homes and day centres. The extension will now see Equans providing these services for a further three years.

Additionally, to support Warrington Borough Council’s carbon reduction mission, net zero carbon consultancy services has also been added into the scope of Equans’ service provision. As part of this work, Equans will develop a heat decarbonisation strategy and asset survey for the councils public building estate, feeding into ongoing maintenance plans and supporting funding applications.

Equans will also continue to work with Warrington Borough Council to deliver impactful social value activities which make a direct and positive contribution to the local community. To date, the partnership has donated over 270 hours of volunteering and provided 20 days of work experience for students at Warrington Vale College.

Richard Carmichael, Managing Director for Local Authority Services at Equans UK & Ireland, said: “We are pleased to be continuing our work with Warrington Borough Council and are proud that, together, we will now be collaborating to bring the borough’s net zero ambitions into focus.

We look forward to not only delivering on our facilities management and consultancy commitments, but also to making even more positive contributions to the local area and its residents through our continued volunteering and other social value activities.”
