Liverpool North Probation Delivery Unit (PDU) receptionist Lisa Mockridge has been honoured at the national Inspire Justice Awards, delivered by Skills for Justice.
The expert panel of judges awarded Lisa the prize for going above and beyond to ensure offenders that she greets on the front desk were looked after and cared for.
Lisa offers visitors breakfast if they have an early appointment and goes out of her way to help people in need, giving out personal hygiene supplies to those who are struggling to afford them.
In recent months, Lisa has also started a foodbank at the PDU to support people on probation visiting the centre.
Reacting to the news of her win at a glittering awards ceremony in Birmingham Lisa said: “To be nominated was nice in itself but to be highly commended for something you day to day is really nice. It’s the first time I’ve been to something like this and for people working in the background it’s nice to be recognised for your hard work.”
HMPPS Business Manager Julie Mathison adds: “Lisa has such a positive attitude every day. I have been in post at Lisa’s Business Manager since January 2022, and not one day has gone by where I have not seen Lisa helping or supporting either an offender or a staff member. This is just part of Lisa’s amazing personality!”
The Inspire Justice Awards is sponsored by UNISON, Serve & Protect CU, Napo, SFJ Awards and Policing Insight.
