Mecsia expands technical services offering with ECG Facilities Services acquisition

Mecsia, a national provider of compliance-led, technical inspection, testing and maintenance services, has acquired Glasgow and Warrington-based facilities and technical services management business, ECG Facilities Services.

The strategic acquisition, says Mecsia, will further bolster the copmany’s growth trajectory, enhancing its regional capabilities and expanding its service offerings to clients across the UK. It also strengthens Mecsia’s position as a nationwide technical services provider and expands the group to 1,200 people with a combined turnover of £200 million.

ECG will continue to operate from its Glasgow base, retaining its teams of skilled professionals while integrating into Mecsia’s extensive network.

Jon Coiley, CEO at Mecsia said: “We are thrilled to welcome ECG to Mecsia. The acquisition aligns with our commitment to delivering exceptional compliance-led technical services and expands our ability to meet the diverse needs of clients across the UK.

“ECG’s experience and regional strength are invaluable as we continue to grow and innovate in our industry. The combination enables both companies to share even more resource, capacity and capabilities. Mecsia continues to deliver an increasing breadth of self-delivered services across an expanding geographic area.”

Stephen Hawthorne, MD at ECG said: “This is a perfect strategic fit for ECG. The combination will allow us to strengthen our core service provision to our existing client base, both geographically and technically. During the acquisition process, it became abundantly clear that our intrinsic values and visions were aligned. The whole team is excited and eager about the next chapter of our journey together and we look forward to being part of the Mecsia family.”
