Mitie named Britain’s Most Admired Company in the support services sector

Mitie has been named Britain’s Most Admired Company in the Support Services category, according to Britain’s Most Admired Companies, the UK’s longest running corporate reputational study, in partnership with the London Stock Exchange.

The accolade was awarded to Mitie at Britain’s Most Admired Companies’ annual awards hosted at the London Stock Exchange.

As part of the celebrations, Mitie’s CEO, Phil Bentley, joined British business leaders from Greggs, Rentokil, Berkeley Group, Business in the Community and the London Stock Exchange, on a panel hosted by Sky News Business Presenter Ian King, to discuss how British businesses can address and leverage the leading opportunities and risks identified in the 2024 Most Admired Companies study, from technology and AI to policy reforms and talent development.

Britain’s Most Admired Companies offers unparalleled insights into the standing of FTSE 100 and 250 companies over the past 35 years. Based on evaluations from a company’s closest observers and including competitors and financial analysts, the study assesses companies across 27 sectors and 13 key reputational drivers. Led by Echo Research, a globally renowned independent market research agency, the study continues to set the standard for board-ready insights and reputation valuation for businesses across the UK.

This accolade reflects Mitie’s exceptional performance across the board as it continues to build a successful, sustainable, and inclusive business. Following a significant year-on-year uplift, Mitie Group leads the Support Services sector in the UK this year by a considerable margin and ranks fourth overall among companies measured in this study. It was also awarded silver certificates for leadership in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Effective Use of Corporate Assets, as well as a Bronze for Positive Contribution to Society.

Phil Bentley, CEO, Mitie, said: “Being recognised as one of Britain’s Most Admired Companies is a tremendous achievement and is testament to the passion, dedication, and expertise of all our colleagues across Mitie. Earning the top award for our sector highlights the breadth of our commitment to creating a sustainable, inclusive, and high-performing business.

“Our success is built on innovation, collaboration, and creating better places where communities thrive. It was a pleasure to join the panel alongside some of the UK’s most respected business leaders to discuss the upcoming opportunities for 2025.”
