New structure and growth plan for Kier Places

Kier Places, part of Kier Group’s Construction division, which provides building, construction and property management solutions for places where people live and work has unveiled three key business focus areas as part of its five-year strategic growth plan.

Led by Managing Director Jamie McKechnie, Kier Places will now operate across three key business streams: Building Solutions, Residential Solutions and Workplace Solutions.

The business will also extend its geographical reach to the south coast through the Building Solutions stream – opening up to more framework opportunities in the region, alongside its existing work in London and the north of England.

Kier Places delivers contracts on behalf of clients across the UK from sectors including housing associations, local authorities, bluelight organisations, healthcare, education, government departments, defence and security, custodial, private landlords, and the private sector.

The range of services across the business includes reactive and planned maintenance, mechanical and electrical maintenance and response, decarbonisation and retrofit services, hard and soft facilities management, refurbishment, remodel and extension, cladding remediation, fire assessment works, soft facilities services, asbestos survey and remodel, and fabric maintenance.

Jamie McKechnie, MD of Kier Places, said: “I’ve been in post for just over a year and as a business we continue to perform incredibly well. Our success in recent years has given us the platform to develop a long-term evidence-informed growth strategy, and we’re now implementing that at pace, including the introduction of our new business areas.

“An important part of our growth strategy has been about listening to our clients and finding out what they are really looking for. Our strength is in our ability to partner with our clients to develop solutions whichprotect the value of their assets whilst enhancing the end users’ experience and contribute to thriving communities.

“This a hugely exciting time at Kier Places and today we are making a bold statement of intent for what the next few years look like and the scale of our ambition. Watch this space!”
