OCS has expanded its long-standing partnership with GKN, a global leader in aerospace manufacturing, into a comprehensive total facilities management (TFM) contract.
This significant development marks a new chapter in a relationship that began in 2019, initially focused on providing soft services such as cleaning and security.
OCS has expanded its service offerings to GKN throughout the years, recently introducing catering including the addition of three-year technical services.
The new contract, which commenced on 1 January, will see OCS also delivering hard services across three of GKN’s major sites – Filton, Western Approach and GTC. OCS continues to provide soft services for GKN’s smaller sites on Isle of Wight and in Luton, relaunching soft services and mobilising hard services.
The contract will employ 14 engineers and administrative team members for hard services, along with 85 colleagues across cleaning, security, reception and waste management. By leveraging its one management approach and single point of contact, OCS ensures streamlined communication and management processes for exceptional service delivery.
As part of the TFM model, OCS will be providing refresher training and opportunities for upskilling to the existing team. New management roles have been introduced, allowing supervisors to advance into managerial positions. Additionally, OCS has invested a partnership commitment fund back into the contract, demonstrating its dedication to continuous improvement and support for its team.
FMJ has partnered with Watco to deliver a webinar on Thursday 30th January where we will be grilling a panel of experts on how facilities managers can maintain a safe workplace while balancing shrinking budgets.
The webinar follows the Lifting the Lid report series that the industrial paint and repair products specialist has been developing over the past few years based on research conducted with FMs across the UK. The research explored core responsibilities of the FM role, including how they have evolved in the past decade, and the associated challenges to manage.
Watco’s Sales Director and key contributor to the reports, Chris Budd, will be joined by a panel of experts including Phil Pinnington, Head of Audit & Consultancy at the British Safety Council, Nick Bray, Head of HSEQ, ISS UK and Ireland and Jenni Gallop, Director of Estates and Facilities at Provide Community.
With decades of combined experience in the introduction and management of health and safety in complex, demanding environments, the panel will provide the audience with recommendations broken down into steps that can be introduced immediately.
The panel will discuss the research data from FMs across the UK, the evidence they have seen of those experiences across industries and their first-hand recommendations on how to manage those challenges and ease the pressure.
