OCS has won a three-year cleaning contract with Midland Metro Limited (MML), operator and maintainer of the West Midlands Metro (WMM) tram network, marking a significant expansion into the light rail sector.
The contract, which commenced on 1 April 2025, sees OCS providing comprehensive cleaning services across the Metro tram network, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
As the tram network continues to expand, OCS will support MML by implementing advanced maintenance solutions, including industry-leading tooling and equipment, to maintain a high standard of hygiene. The use of environmentally friendly cleaning solutions, such as plant-based chemicals and chemical-free water-based options, will also be introduced to ensure sustainability and efficiency standards are upheld across the tram network in alignment with MML’s strategic goals.
Twenty colleagues have joined the contract team, operating 24/7 across day and night shifts. OCS will bring expertise and innovative cleaning methods to deliver high-quality services, supported by team training and equipment tailored to the specific needs of the light rail sector.
Committed to delivering social value OCS says it is prioritising local employment and fostering an inclusive workplace. These initiatives align with the commitments of both OCS and MML, ensuring a positive community impact while providing high-quality service standards.
