Construction and facilities management firm, Polyteck, has secured a three-year FM deal to oversee One Berkeley Street in Mayfair, London.
The contract will see Polyteck providing mechanical, electric, water treatment and fire services for all the common plant and systems at the property, which is a mixed-use complex home to Europe’s first 1Hotel. The development, all fully let, comprises the 181 guestroom hotel as well as, as well as 60,000ft of prime offices and 20,000ft of premium retail space.
The eight-storey, 1970s building was developed by Crosstree Real Estate Partners, with architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and specialist hotel architect Dexter Moren Associates overseeing the refurbishment.
Darren Wills, Senior Contracts Manager at Polyteck, said: “We’re delighted to have been successful in tendering for the One Berkeley Street contract after our focus on the hospitality sector and our reputation for M&E expertise and sustainability impressed the client. We’re thrilled to be taking on this exciting property in such a fantastic location. This contract win is another example of our overall strategy and focus on static sites.”
Polyteck also oversees FM at London venues including Manhattan Loft Gardens, Great Western Studios, 11 Westferry Circus, Queensberry House, Academy Gardens and 60 Sloane Avenue.
Planned, proactive maintenance is a keystone of every FM strategy. However, with current cost constraints, there are many demands on Facilities Managers’ maintenance budgets. When it comes to drainage and plumbing, however, the expense of repairing blockages or dealing with flooding could vastly exceed the cost of preventative maintenance.
Given your role as an FM Professional, we would love to hear your views, challenges & experiences, and opinions on drainage & plumbing within the workplace.
