T2 Fire & TECS has been awarded a contract to upgrade and maintain the wardencall and door entry systems on eleven of Cornwall Housing’s schemes.
The three-year service and maintenance contract, which has the option for a two-year extension, was awarded under the Northern Housing Consortium’s Technology Enabled Lives (TEL) Framework. The existing systems will be maintained over the length of the contract, and Network Communication Systems’ Universal Digital Composers (UDC) installed to ensure they remain reliable in the digital world. This innovative contract enables Cornwall Housing to upgrade its sites to digital with all equipment and labour costs spread across the term of the contract. It also includes enhanced response times, and being procured via a direct award has reduced the time to contract, enabling Cornwall Housing to realise the operational and financial benefits more quickly.
Mark Statton, Head of Building Safety at Cornwall Housing commented: “We needed to make sure our TECS assets were digital ready and would continue to provide 24/7 reassurance and support. We also had to ensure any solution was compatible with our existing ARC, and would fit with our longer-term technology strategy. Using the TELS Framework made it quicker and simpler to procure, and working with T2 Fire & TECS means we’ll have expertly maintained digitally compatible systems for the same cost as our existing maintenance-only contract, with four hour response included.”
Jon Marshall, Sales Director at T2 Fire & TECS commented: “The ongoing transition to a digital communications network continues to affect analogue systems, so we’ve been working with all of our customers to help them find cost-effective solutions that meet their particular needs and enable them to provide services that are fit for the future. T2 Fire & TECS is ranked first for Installations and Maintenance and Repair on the TEL Framework, reflective of our commitment to combining expertise, quality and value.”
Cornwall Housing continues to work with T2 Fire & TECS as it develops its longer term digital strategy, looking at its options for planning technology replacements across the whole organisation to ensure future proof solutions are in place.
