Leading Northwest property services company, The Momentum Group, is celebrating achieving coveted B Corporation™ (B Corp™) Certification, joining a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact.
Administered by B Lab and measuring five impact areas, B Corp™ assesses Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers, with The Momentum Group scoring particularly highly in the Community category. The company was also noted for its ‘Designed to Give – Impact Business Model’, due to the Group’s philanthropic arm, the Momentum Foundation, which supports several local charities.
Comprising four distinct business offerings – Advise, Build, Manage and Maintain – and serving property clients throughout the UK, including Grosvenor, Sovereign Centros from CBRE, Redevco and Glenbrook, The Momentum Group is one of just 3,124 UK businesses, equating to 0.06% of all companies, to have B Corp Certification, with fewer than 20 in the Liverpool City Region.
Chris Bliss and Chris Renshaw, Co-founders and Directors of The Momentum Group, said: “Becoming a B Corp™ Certified business is one of our most significant achievements. It has only been possible though because everyone in The Momentum Group shares our commitment to the company being socially and environmentally responsible in everything it does. We thank the team and hope they are as proud of this as we are.
“It is also a privilege to join other pioneering businesses in the Liverpool City Region, all of whom have been on a similar journey to our own to achieve B Corp Certification and live by the high standards it champions. Every company has a responsibility to minimise its impact and maximise its contribution socially and environmentally, and B Corp™ Certification is a great way of being held to account.”
Achieving B Corp™ crowns a year in which The Momentum Group has made significant progress environmentally, socially and in employee wellbeing. In August, the company published its first annual report for Momentum Contribute, the arm of the business focused on its commitment to people, places, the planet and professionalism. In addition, the Group co-organised and hosted the Liverpool City Region’s second sustainability conference, growing it significantly from its launch last year. The Momentum Group has also calculated its carbon footprint, which is serving as a baseline against which the impact of future initiatives will be measured.
