Wates grows FM portfolio with IWG

International Workplace Group (IWG), a global hybrid working specialist, has awarded Wates Group’s facilities management business a three-year contract for the delivery of maintenance services across more than 250 UK sites.

The contract includes mechanical and electrical services, additional reactive works and projects for the UK’s largest workspace network on behalf of IWG.

As part of Wates’ continued drive to decarbonise the built environment, the team will also work closely with IWG to identify opportunities to enhance building efficiency across all sites.

The new contract with IWG forms part of Wates’ increasingly expanding FM portfolio, which includes a range of hard and soft FM services for private and public sector customers. Core sectors include commercial offices, research and development and manufacturing.

Commenting on the new contract award, Antony Collett, Managing Director of Wates’ FM business, said: “We are really excited to be working with IWG. With our shared values we can already see that our working relationship will be a collaborative one, and we are looking forward to adding value as an FM partner. Working in this way is particularly valuable when it comes to sustainability, allowing us to take a ‘one team’ approach to improving efficiency in our shared journey to net zero.”

Gavin Phillips, IWG Chief Operating Officer – UK, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Wates. Our shared commitment to data-informed decisions and a positive environmental impact will allow IWG to improve and grow our product offering in the UK.”
