It has been a year of great uncertainties for

BOSTIK HELPS STEER HOSPITAL PROJECT
THROUGH COVID-19
Bostik have enabled the progress of the
new 3,600m three storey ward block at
Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Nationwide Flooring Contracts was
employed to install safety vinyl and antistatic
flooring and turned to Bostik for
product recommendations and technical
advice.
Bostik’s technical team visited the
site carrying out moisture testing on
the subfloors of the modular building and compiled a report that outlined a
methodology and system of products for how best to tackle the job.
To suppress the residual moisture in the subfloor, Nationwide used
Screedmaster One Coat Membrane with Screedmaster One Coat Accelerator,
Bostik’s single-component additive for speeding up the cure rate of One Coat
Membrane. Nationwide Flooring Contracts primed most of the subfloors
using Bostik Universal Primer, before applying the high-flow, easy-trowelling
Screedmaster Flow smoothing compound which is totally protein and casein
free, and suitable for use in biologically sensitive areas.
For areas likely to be a ected by large medical equipment nearby, Bostik
supplied its Screedmaster Epoxy Primer and fibre-reinforced Screedmaster Flex
smoothing compound, which is specially designed for use where vibration and
minimal thermal movement can be problematic.
For the skirting in the ward block, Nationwide used Bostik Roll, the company’s
solvent-free, reinforced adhesive tape. Solvent-free also means it is ideal for
healthcare applications, since there is less impact on building occupants.

Microbiological
contamination of the
shower water is almost
completely ruled out
through the positioning
of the electronically
controlled thermostat
adjacent to the shower
head. This reduces the
standing water column
that is normally standard
in conventional shower systems to an absolute minimum and the panel can
be additionally maintained through a regular rinse of either the hot, cold and
mixed water lines which can be rinsed separately.
The jury of the German Design Awards 2021 have also been impressed by
CONTI + CONPRIMUS and awarded the shower elements the “Special Mention”
for outstanding design quality in the “Excellent Product Design - Bath and
Wellness” category.

Hydro-X Group, which already boasts of seven o ices
